Inside Lacrosse 2022 Preseason Media All-American Men’s Team

Inside Lacrosse Announced its 2022 Preseason Media Men’s All-Americans this week with Georgetown leading the way with the most first-team All-Americans from one with three. Those three players are Midfielder Graham Bundy, Transfer defensemen from North Carolina Will Bowen, and Goalie Owen McElroy. On top of leading schools with three 1st team selections, Georgetown had four other players listed on the All-American list with Zach Geddes, Gibson Smith being 2nd team selections, and TJ Haley and Dylan being honorable mentions.

But the team that led the way with 8 selections was Maryland who had Roman Puglise and Brett Makar as 1st team selections and added Logan Wisnauskas, Kyle Long, and Cornell transfer Jonathan Donville as 2nd team selections. Maryland rounded out with three honorable mentions in Anthony DeMaio, Logan McNaney, and Villanova transfer Owen Prybylski.

Of the 79 players selected as either 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or honorable mention 8 of those 73 players did not play a single college lacrosse game last year with the Ivy League not playing last year due to COVID precautions. Of those 8 players, just 2 were honorable mentions, and Sam Handley (UPenn) was a 1st team All-American selection. 

The ACC led all conferences with 26 selections followed by the Big Ten with 13, and Big East with 11. The Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) had 6 players selected to the All-American list. With Delaware Defender Owen Grant being named to the 2nd team. Delaware added to more via an honorable mention in Mike Robinson and Tye Kurtz. Drexel had 2 honorable mentions of their own in George Grippo and Sean Quinn. Towson also had defender Koby Smith selected as an honorable mention.
