STX has announced landmark name, image and likeness deals with several NCAA Division 1 men’s lacrosse players.
The company has agreements with UNC’s Chris Gray, Ohio State’s Mitchell Pehlke, Syracuse’s Tucker Dordevic, Duke players Nakeie Montgomery and Brennan O’Neill, and Johns Hopkins’ Connor DeSimone.
They are some of the first major signings of college lacrosse players since the NIL rules went into effect back in July and it allows players to get free gear and make money off of the sponsorship. The players are excited about this opportunity.
“It’s a very humbling experience. I’m super appreciative STX reached out to me and offered me what they did,” said DeSimone. “They work with us, they’ve been sending us some great stuff. Honestly, I’m trying to be as engaged as possible. Put the team first, but at the same time promote myself, promote my brand and be able to expand lacrosse into an uncharted territory, for sure.”
The deal includes players posting on their social media accounts about STX products, and will also allow the company to use the players in their own media campaigns.
