Lacrosse Now Recap | December 23rd

by Thomas McNeeley Dec 22, 2021

Lax Sports Network’s Tom Eschen and Travis Eldridge discussed a wide array of topics in the latest edition of Lacrosse Now which premiered on LSN on Thursday, December 23rd, and is now available on YouTube and as an audio podcast.

Here is a rundown of the topics covered:

The holidays are upon us and Tom and Travis decide to get into the Christmas spirit the only way possible, by handing out gifts to those in the lacrosse community. Travis decides to provide a gift to a former All-American from the Big Ten Conference who is now finding success on the football field. Tom wants to give the gift of time to a certain team who has come up short in recent years by just seconds.

We are soon to be entering Week Five of the National Lacrosse League. Teams are starting to make their presence known and the standings are starting to take shape early on. The guys at LSN give out their first NLL Power Rankings of the 2021-22 season. Although it is early on in the season, Travis and Tom list their rankings of the 14 teams in the league. Some surprises may be in store on the list.

Another conference preview is included in the show as we approach the upcoming 2022 NCAA season. This week we take a look at the America East and the MAAC. Travis and Tom give out their favorites for both the men’s and the women’s games between the two conferences. The two agreed on their America East favorite on the women’s side as both chose the Stony Brook Seawolves. Stony Brook will be looking to win the America East Championship for the 9th-straight season. The last time they did not win the conference championship was in 2012 when they lost to UAlbany 9-7.

Be sure to tune in to this week’s episode as you can watch it on Youtube or listen to the audio wherever you listen to podcasts.
