Yesterday, the Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse 2022 season schedule was revealed. The Blue Jays are coming off a 2021 season in which they went 4-9 and only played Big Ten opponents because of the ongoing pandemic.
Head coach Pete Milliman talked about the schedule in a press release:
"After playing a Big Ten-only schedule in 2021, we are very excited to announce our 2022 schedule, which includes a full slate of non-conference games to help prepare us for league play," Milliman noted. "Playing the strongest schedule in the nation will always be a priority at Johns Hopkins; with the strength of the Big Ten and the nine non-conference games we have scheduled, I think our fans will be excited to see the Blue Jays compete this coming year."
After a scrimmage at Denver on January 29, the team will open up the season at home (February 5) in their first-ever meeting against Jacksonville. The team will then hit the road for two games against Towson (February 11) and Georgetown (February 13).
On March 12, the Blue Jays will face their former coach Dave Pietramala for the first time since he left, when they take on the Syracuse Orange at home. Pietramala is currently serving as the defensive coordinator for the Orange.
Johns Hopkins will close out the regular season at home against their rival Maryland on April 23.
